Unzip anywhere and run SynergyX.exe. The folder beside it (hydra/, python/) is required for mining — keep it together.

Portable .tar.gz: any distro • .deb: Debian/Ubuntu/Mint/Pop!_OS • .AppImage: runs on any Linux, no install
AppImage: make it executable first. Downloads arrive without the executable bit, so double-clicking may offer a USB writer instead of running — that is not a corrupt file.
chmod +x SynergyX-3.1.5.AppImage && ./SynergyX-3.1.5.AppImage
Or right-click → Properties → Permissions → “Allow executing as program”. The .tar.gz keeps the bit and needs no such step.

Extract, then run ./SynergyX from the folder. First launch: right-click → Open, or xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine (unsigned build).
